The gaps are large and both upper and below teeth protruding outwards .how long it will take to get into normal position. And also the upper part of bracket are yellow. I don't know as it is plaque or any chemical that may came at the time of lower teeth bracing..I clean my teeth 3-4 times .teeth remain good and white but the colour above brackets are only yellow..my dentist says it will take 10-12 month..to correct the teeth position and gaps. Any information regarding this. Thank you

Hello Murali!

Thanks for reaching out to SmileSteps.com. Based on your question and description I have some neighborly advice...

It seems like you have some concerns about your dental health. It's great to hear that you're taking good care of your teeth by cleaning them regularly.

However, it's not uncommon for plaque to accumulate around the brackets of dental braces, leading to discoloration or yellowing of the teeth in that area.

As for the time it will take to correct the gaps and protrusion of your teeth, your dentist's estimate of 10-12 months sounds reasonable.

The exact timeline can vary depending on the severity of your case and the type of braces you're using. It's important to follow your dentist's instructions and attend all scheduled appointments to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

In the meantime, continue to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly, and pay special attention to cleaning around the brackets of your braces.

If you have any concerns about the discoloration above the brackets, be sure to bring it up with your dentist at your next appointment.

Overall, it's important to be patient and consistent with your dental care during orthodontic treatment.

With time and proper care, you should see improvements in the alignment and appearance of your teeth.

Good luck to you,

Rob at SmileSteps
