Studies by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) indicate that the desire to have a perfect smile is as important – if not more important than the cost of achieving one. Whether the client wants cosmetic dentures or cosmetic dental veneers, the decision relies

heavily on the societal perceptions of a smile.

Types Of Cosmetic Dental Procedures

A cosmetic dentist has a variety of procedures with which to fulfill your need or desire for a perfect smile. Among the most common are the following:

  • Veneers
  • Bleaching
  • Bonding
  • Crowns
  • Dentures
  • Implants
  • Reshaping and contouring
  • Whitening or bleaching

The costs of these procedures will vary. They may even depend upon where we live and even upon the credentials of our dentist. Moreover, each method may offer less expensive alternatives.

Costs

The cost of a specific procedure depends upon several factors. These include the precise material, the extent of the work to be completed and the type of procedure.

In the case of dentures, for example, your dentist may create a bridge from gold or a cheaper alloy.

If you decide to bleach or whiten your teeth, an over-the-counter (OTC) kit is less costly than an in-office dental visit.

Cosmetic dentistry veneers can also be more expensive depending upon the material chosen. Essentially quality will be more expensive in all procedures.

Yet, overall, the most expensive type of cosmetic procedure is not whitening or dentures or a cosmetic veneer. Implants tend to be more costly than other dental procedures, including cosmetic dentist veneers. Implants also tend to be more complicated than several other types of cosmetic dental procedures.
